THE STORY
This is a really beautiful coffee from the Muranga region, by very small coffee farmers that make up the Karuhiu Utheri Farmers’ Cooperative Society. Farmers cultivate at 1700-1800 masl and deliver their ripe cherries to the factory. The high altitudes nurture sweet, dense cherries, by offering cool nights and warm days. The coffee is fermented for 12-24 hours depending on moisture content, and dried on raised beds. This is an AA grade coffee, consisting of 17-18 screen size and higher.
In the cup we taste raspberry, blackberry, red fruits, currant, with good acidity and body. It also has a red wine character we really love. Kenyan coffee has a special place in our hearts, and this coffee really showcases why that is. Give it a try!
