As is often said, Ethiopia is the birthplace of coffee, and continues to be the go-to for reliably special coffees year in and year out. 

Here we have a beautiful washed process heirloom varietal. It was produced by Biru Bekele in the Oromia region, in Odo Shakiso, in the town of Guji. What we find in the cup is fairly “typical” of this region, which means a super clean cup, with lots of fruits, supported by good acidity and nuanced sweeter notes like nougat and toffee.
